Seattle is divided into more than 80 officially defined neighborhoods by the Seattle City Clerk's office. These represent the most granular level of neighborhood designation — larger colloquial areas like Ballard, Capitol Hill, and West Seattle are each composed of several of these sub-neighborhoods.

Seattle, Washington
These are Seattle's officially defined neighborhoods per the Seattle City Clerk's office — the smallest granular designations. Larger colloquial areas like "Ballard" or "Capitol Hill" are composed of several of these sub-neighborhoods.
Ballard
Quiet residential neighborhood in northern Ballard with tree-lined streets and single-family homes. Borders Crown Hill to the north and the Ballard commercial core to the south.
West Seattle
Seattle's most popular beachfront neighborhood with a mile-long sandy beach facing the downtown skyline across Elliott Bay. Restaurants, bike path, and a replica of the Statue of Liberty.
