A few minutes up the hill, Sun Mountain Lodge offers Winthrop's only full destination-resort experience, with ski-in/ski-out access to the Nordic trail network. Fourteen miles further up-valley, Mazama has its own small cluster of lodging at the Freestone Inn and The Inn at Mazama, both closer to the trailheads and the North Cascades Highway.
