Wenatchee has the largest concentration of hotels in central Washington. Downtown puts Pybus Public Market, the Apple Capital Loop, and the Mission Ridge ski shuttle on foot. North Wenatchee Avenue is the chain-hotel strip: easier parking, usually a lower rate, and a short drive to the riverfront. East Wenatchee is across the Columbia, next to the mall.
This page is the area decision. The hotels directory names the properties. If you are here because Leavenworth is sold out or priced out, treat the 30-minute drive as the plan, not a compromise.

- Residence Inn at 1229 Walla Walla Avenue is the kitchen / longer-stay option, still on the north side
- Holiday Inn Express sits next to Wenatchee Confluence State Park and the Loop Trail

- remove US-2 / 97 frontage is highway lodging, not a village stay
- remove The Mission Ridge shuttle is downtown, not at every North Avenue driveway

Motels and cheaper rooms
Best when rate is the point
People searching Wenatchee motels or cheap hotels usually want the North Avenue chains, not a separate motel village. Treat those searches as the hotels list, then sort by price. We do not keep a competing motels URL.
Camping
Best in summer on the Columbia
Lincoln Rock, Daroga, and Wenatchee Confluence State Parks sit on the river with hookups and swimming beaches. Confluence is the in-town option and connects to the Loop Trail. Not a December plan.

Late Nov – Dec
Book if Lighting Festival is the trip- Downtown Leavenworth sells out first. Wenatchee is the 30-minute overflow, not a same-day Front Street cancellation
- Mission Ridge powder weekends also fill the riverfront hotels
- North Avenue is the relief valve when downtown Wenatchee is priced up
Dec – Mar
Book downtown for the shuttle- Stay downtown if the Mission Ridge shuttle is part of the plan
- North Avenue works if you are driving the hill every morning anyway
- Midweek is much easier than powder Saturdays
June – August
Book weekends early- Summer Saturdays still need lead time for downtown
- River camping fills separately from the hotels
- January through spring, and midweek most seasons, are easy

Booking Tips
If Lighting Festival is the reason you are looking at Wenatchee, book the Wenatchee room first, then build the village days around the drive.
The Mission Ridge shuttle is a downtown convenience. Confirm the current stop before you book a North Avenue hotel for a car-free ski day.
Most North Avenue chains have an indoor pool. Downtown Coast has a pool. We do not list a pool on Hilton or Red Lion without a confirmed amenity.

Showing up in Leavenworth on a December Saturday without a room, then hoping Wenatchee is empty. Book the overflow when you skip the village.
Booking East Wenatchee or the far north strip and expecting a walk to Pybus.

About 30 minutes east of Leavenworth on US-2. Conventional hotels when the village is gone or priced out. You drive in for Front Street and drive back to sleep.
It is a hotel city
Search volume is hotels, motels, cheap hotels, and places to stay. Cabins and Airbnb are not the query here the way they are in Leavenworth.
Camping is the summer alternative
Columbia River state parks, not a December option. Confluence is the in-town campground.
East Wenatchee is a different city
Across the Columbia in Douglas County. Fine with a car. Not a downtown walk.
