Winthrop campgrounds range from fully developed Pearrygin Lake State Park — flush toilets, showers, RV hookups, and a swimming beach 2 miles from downtown — to quiet Forest Service sites across three areas: the Highway 20 corridor west toward Washington Pass, the roads northwest of Mazama toward Harts Pass, and the Chewuch River drainage north of Winthrop. Most USFS campgrounds are first-come, first-served with vault toilets as their primary amenity.
For hikes on Highway 20, Lone Fir is closest to Maple Pass and Blue Lake; Klipchuck and Early Winters sit on the same corridor closer to town. Use the map below to compare every Winthrop campground.
