Overview

North Fork Campground is a free, first-come, first-served group site on the Entiat River, located 38 miles up the Entiat Valley just past Entiat Falls. The campground once had 8 distinct sites, though some have become overgrown over the years — there are still several suitable spots for tent camping and smaller trailers. A single vault toilet is on-site, but there is no potable water or garbage service.

The campground sits at the confluence of the North Fork of the Entiat River and the main river, with easy access to the water. It is within walking distance of Entiat Falls, and close to trailheads for the Silver Falls, Entiat River, and North Fork Entiat trails. The upper valley setting is quiet and remote — a good choice if you want to get away from the more-visited lower campgrounds.

Activities

Entiat Falls

Entiat Falls

The campground is within walking distance of Entiat Falls, one of the most accessible waterfalls in the Entiat Valley. Though only about 10 feet high, the falls tumble over volcanic rock ledges and are easy to reach directly from the road — a scenic stop for any upper-valley visitor.

Hiking

The popular Silver Falls trail is only 3 miles away, a stunning waterfall at less than 3 miles roundtrip. The Entiat River Trailhead is 5 miles to the north with the 14-mile Entiat River Trail, and the North Fork Entiat Trailhead is 4 miles away. View more trails at the Entiat Hiking Guide.

Mountain Biking

Several mountain bike trails originate near the campground, including the Entiat River Trail, Shetipo Trail, Duncan Hill Trail, and the North Fork Entiat Trail.

Motorbikes

Most trails in the Entiat Valley are open to dirt bikes. Note that the Glacier Peak Wilderness boundary is to the north and certain trails, including the Entiat River Trail, cross into the wilderness where motorized use is prohibited.
